Founder sourcing coffee in Vietnamese highlands

I came to Nha Trang for six months and stayed for years. Vietnam grows extraordinary coffee and tea — but most of what reaches the world is exported in bulk containers with no name, no story, and no care.

The first time I visited a Son La coffee farm and tasted freshly dried Arabica cherries, I understood that something was being lost between the mountain and the market. Mekong Source is the attempt to close that gap.

We started with four products and a small audience. We now work with fourteen farms and factories across Vietnam and Yunnan — every relationship built face to face, in the field, over tea.

The Mekong River begins in the Tibetan Plateau and flows through Yunnan, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam before reaching the sea. It passes through every region where our products originate. It is the artery of Southeast Asian culture — the source of the flavors we carry.

Direct Sourcing

Every product is purchased directly from the farm or factory — no importers, no brokers, no mystery. The farmer's name is on the origin card.

Fair Price Paid

We pay above-market rates for quality. A farmer who receives a fair price for exceptional coffee will grow exceptional coffee again next year.

Seasonal Honesty

When a harvest is poor, we say so. When something sells out, it sells out. We do not blend with inferior stock to maintain availability.

Story as Standard

Every product we sell has a traceable story — region, altitude, process, person. If we can't tell the story, we don't sell the product.

No Cage Luwak

We source Luwak coffee exclusively from wild-collection systems. Cage-farmed civet coffee is an ethical failure we will not participate in.

Built to Last

We are not building a brand to flip. We are building relationships with farmers and customers that we intend to maintain for decades.
