$85 – 220
Yixing teapots are the pinnacle of Chinese ceramic craft. Made from Zisha (purple sand) clay unique to Yixing city, the porous clay absorbs the oils and aromas of every tea brewed in it — creating a teapot that becomes more expressive the longer you use it.

Care Instructions
Season before first use: rinse with boiling water, brew a sacrificial batch, discard. Never use soap. Rinse with hot water after each use and let air dry. Over years, a well-used Yixing will brew tea with just hot water added.
Craft Story
Made by hand, shaped by tradition.
Yixing clay has been worked for over 600 years. The deposits of Zisha — literally "purple sand" — are found only in and around Yixing city in Jiangsu province. They have a unique mineral composition that no other clay replicates.
A true hand-made Yixing teapot is built piece by piece — the body, the spout, the handle, the lid — each shaped by hand and joined with wet clay. The process takes an experienced potter several days per pot.
We work with two families in Yixing who have been producing teapots for four generations. Our pots are individually selected, never batch-purchased.
